TREAT

Read ALL instructions on pamphlet inside box. Adults and children 2 years and older:

Treat to kill lice and eggs (nits):

  1. Start with DRY hair
  2. Separate hair into sections with clips
  3. Shake can well
  4. Part a section of hair into a 1-inch section, focus the nozzle tip at the scalp and apply a generous amount of mousse along the length of the hair
  5. Pay special attention to nape of neck and behind ears
  6. Saturate all hair and scalp, massaging the mousse to break down the foam, thoroughly soaking the hair. To be effective all lice and nits must be contacted. Depending on length of hair, the full can may be needed.
  7. Repeat process until all sections of hair are saturated and wait 15 minutes.

REMOVE LICE AND EGGS (NITS):
  1. Although dead, nits remain attached to the hair
  2. After 15-minute treatment, use enclosed comb, to remove dead lice and nits from the wet hair
  3. Working with a 1-inch section of hair, insert the comb against the scalp, and pull through to the end, wiping on a disposable paper towel after each stroke
  4. If hair dries, apply more product to ease combing
  5. Repeat combing if necessary
  6. Shampoo and towel dry hair

Vamousse may be be repeated as needed. Children under 2 years: ask a doctor.

Kills lice and eggs in 1 treatment

Vamousse Lice Treatment is pesticide-free and kills lice and eggs in one treatment using the active ingredient Natrum Muriaticum (sodium chloride) to end an infestation fast. Since traditional lice treatments kill adult lice using a pesticide-based neurotoxin, they have limited or no ability to kill yet undeveloped eggs (nits). This means a second treatment is part of the instructions, in order to kill lice as they hatch 7 – 10 days later, before an infestation can be ended.

Vamousse uses a different mode of action to kill lice and eggs both in the same application. The protective lipid layer of the adult lice is compromised by the advanced formulation to rapidly deliver the active ingredient to the louse, causing a rupture of the intestinal tract followed by dehydration. Eggs are similarly dehydrated, rendering them no longer viable.

Kills super lice

Studies have identified strains of head lice in some U.S. regions that have become increasingly resistant to pyrethrins and permethrin, the active pesticide ingredients in most over-the-counter head lice treatments. Super Lice do not look any different from regular lice. These lice have been called super lice since they are harder to kill with traditional pesticide-based products.

Vamousse Lice Treatment is pesticide-free and relies on active ingredient Natrum Muriaticum (sodium chloride). Because it’s pesticide-free, Vamousse has no pesticide-resistance issues. Vamousse has been proven effective against super lice in a clinical trial.

Clinically proven
Vamousse Lice Treatment is clinically proven to kill both lice and eggs in one treatment – even super lice.1 Vamousse’s active ingredient, natrum muriaticum (sodium chloride) ends an infestation fast. The protective lipid layer of the adult lice is compromised by the advanced formulation to rapidly deliver the active ingredient to the louse, causing a rupture of the intestinal tract followed by dehydration.2 Eggs are similarly dehydrated, rendering them no longer viable.

Scientific studies
Vamousse Lice Treatment was tested using internationally recognized ASTM testing protocols.3 Following these industry standards, the products were tested in the laboratory on body lice, head lice and head lice eggs collected from volunteers in South Florida. Lice in this geographic area have been extensively documented to have developed genetic resistance (99%) to the traditional lice treatment active ingredients, pyrethrin, and permethrin, commonly in products like Rid® Lice Killing Shampoo and Nix® Permethrin Cream Rinse.4

Six replicates of 10 lice each were performed [for both the product and control]. The test exposed the lice to Vamousse Lice Treatment for 15 minutes, per product instructions, followed by a warm water rinse. 100% of treated lice were confirmed dead 24 hours after this single application.
